Hey! I just read your post about schooling, I'm not sure where you're from but I'm from Quebec and know a ton of people who are in the progress of getting a degree in french or who have already gotten one. Most of them want to go on to be teachers as french second language and we have a huge demand for it over here. I think they have to do another course to be able to teach, not sure though. With a masters in french I think you can teach in Cegep, so I'm pretty sure you'd be able to teach in high school or elementary as well?
Hope this helps <3
Thanks so much! I’m actually in the US now, but I’d love to move to Canada someday. It’s so good to hear there are options. Thank you for taking the time to write me :)
Advice?
So for the past 2 years I’ve been studying architecture at a very focused college (hardly any electives or classes outside of my major) and I am coping well with the huge amount of studio work and the time it takes to do these projects.
But it doesn’t feel right. I’ve always wanted to become fluent in french, and I just don’t have time to take the extra classes I want: french, writing, internat’l relations…
Some of my architecture friends have gotten internships at some firms, and they’re SO excited - they’re raving about how they’ve gotten their dream job! I have some people I need to go shadow…but I’m putting it off because I’m afraid they’ll see I’m not too into it. Or that I’m not good at it. My dream job? I want to teach french to little kids, or be a translator.
So tell me, please. Have you heard of any success stories of people who’ve got a degree in French or international relations? I chose to study architecture because I knew I’d get a well-paying job once I graduate. But it’s not what I’m passionate about. Every now&then I freak out and say I’m going to transfer, but there’s that cautionary voice in the back of my head that I can’t make it out in the real world, and the smart thing to do is architecture. Help?

So I’m back up to 160lbs since volleyball ended. Up until last week I was going to the gym every day, but still eating crap. And now I have so much homework to do I hardly have time for the gym.
But the past couple days I’ve been eating healthier. Yesterday I had a salad for lunch, and a salad for dinner. No dressing. And today I ate less calories total. So there is hope for the future :)
